What does “Divine Intervention” mean

“Divine Intervention”- the phrase many of us know so well, but hate to hear. Many times, a divine intervention does not come as a pleasant thing & can often feel like rejection. This could look something like not getting a job you applied for, a relationship that you worked so hard for not going how you expected, or simply just something not going as planned. We all hate to fail and love to succeed & anything that doesn’t go our way, or even happen on our timing can make us feel like the world is coming to an end. But what if….

what if something not going as planned is not a failure, but a blessing instead.

 What does Divine Intervention mean?

By definition, Divine Intervention is defined as an event that occurs when a deity (God) becomes actively involved in changing some situation in human affairs. Simply said, it is when God intervenes something. Then, what happens is not only supposed to happen, but was destined to happen all along. So many things that have happened in my life I can look back now and say that they were not by instance. However, it was an act of Divine Intervention to get me to where I am today.

What if that amazing  job you wanted would’ve replace an even greater job that was to come? How about that promotion or relationship that you so badly wanted to work out would eventually overshadow God’s purpose for your life and conceal you from your amazing future? It’s times like these where this phrase comes into play. As such, we can truly see first hand what Divine Intervention really means. Also, understand what is looks like in our day to day lives. These acts of God are something that I have learned to appreciate so greatly. I appreciate it even when I myself don’t fully understand them.

Defining Diving Intervention

The word divine is defined as “of like God.” Intervention- well, we all know what that means. Many times we can feel like something not working out is bad. However, most times, the one thing that we wanted to happen so badly not happening is the best thing for us. In regards to our own lives & wants, we seem to only look at one piece of the puzzle- that job, that career, that friendship. We uses it to define or build what our lives should be. When this one thing doesn’t go as planned, we feel grief, sadness, & anger. Then, we begin to overlook the great things that God has for our futures.

It is times like these that we need to remain faithful and fearless.  More times than not, God will not allow something to happen because it’s not aligned with his plan for our lives. Staying close to Gods word is a simple way. I am constantly reminded of God’s grace and love for us and how there is a time for everything. Reading my bible daily is not always an easy task with day to day live and always having a busy schedule. However, being committed to a relationship with God is something that keeps me grounded, especially during hard times.

“There is a time for everything, a season for every activity under the heavens..”- Ecclesiastes 3:1

This is what Divine Intervention is- God simply interfering to protect you from something that wasn’t meant to be.

It Divine Intervention is Gods way of saying “hold on, I have something better for you- something that you can’t even imagine or dream of for yourself.” Divine Intervention is to protect you from something that could not only alter your future. However, it can hurt you in any way, shape, or form. Divine Intervention is Gods way of promising something better! It might be hard to see. But it is truly is to protect you. Also, to push your closer and more in alignment with your purpose in life.

The next you feel failed because something didn’t work out, or go as planned, just remember there’s always something better around the corner. Even when you don’t see it or understand, know that everything is working out for good- for you. Stay fabulous and be grounded in faith, knowing that God will never let you fail but always points you in the right direction to ensure that you succeed !
