I was cleaning out my closet earlier this week and came across so many things that I had forgotten about! I started separating items into piles: some “for keeps”, some “to for sure give away”, some to even “sell online”. Before I knew it, I had mini piles of clothes all across my closet floor- 1/2 of the stuff I hadn’t see in forever! For one, I found this super cute pair of shoes that I think I’ve worn less than once. I threw them in my “keeping for later” pile, only to take them out a hour later. I then decided to just give everything away- acknowledging the fact that even with giving all of the stuff I had pulled out away, I still had a ton (and still to much) of clothes that I still had yet to wear!
This weeks weekly inspiration comes from Philippians 4:11-
“…for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstance. I know what it is to need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living plenty or in want.”
I think in a nutshell..this verse pretty much sums up what I was feeling the other day as I was emptying my closet. There used to be a time where if I wanted something, I felt like I needed to have it. Like, I would obsess over whatever it was until I got it. Over time, this has certainly changed. I now truly enjoy the idea of living with less. Although I am fully not there yet (baby steps, lol), I can say I have thoroughly enjoyed my latest goal of living more simply. I am truly “content whatever the circumstance”. This week, my prayer for you is simple: contentment. I pray that you are happy in your current now, not wishing for the future to come sooner or reliving the past- but just being happy with your present.
