Happy Wednesday! This week’s weekly inspiration comes from Deuteronomy 16:17-
“Every man shall give as he is able, according to the blessing of the Lord your God which he has given you.”
I have always loved the “pay it forward” moments. Something about that second when you roll up to the drive through window and someone has already paid your bill makes your day better. You feel so blessed and a happy feeling runs through your veins. More times than not, this pay it forward trend continues throughout the drive through line until there is no one behind the last person at the moment to pay their bill. This small act of kindness definitely goes a long way.
It has always been taught that if you can give, give freely. Giving is something that’s talked about every Sunday in church and sharing is taught to children at a young age. Giving doesn’t have to be monetary, it can be free as well. Giving someone a compliment throughout the day, or helping someone elderly bring groceries to their car are both forms of giving that are completely free. Sometimes, simply calling someone that you haven’t talked to in a while is the gift of time that is much appreciated.
This week, my challenge for you is to give. You don’t have to give money, you can give in some of the other ways mentioned above. Giving without expecting anything back is a humble way that we can show God’s love for us, through us.
Until Next Time!
