Happy March! This weeks weekly inspiration comes from 1 Peter 3:3-4
“Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight.”
I have always loved this verse, but don’t come across it that often. Actually, I honestly forget about this verse until I come across it. This verse tells is a simple reminder that all the clothes hanging up in all of our closets, all of our amazing shoes (no matter how fab they are), all of our purses that we love don’t mean anything at the end of the day. They don’t define who we are. They don’t give us our identify us, nor give us our name. Their simply-things.
1 Peter 3:3-4 reminds us that our real beauty comes from the inside. Not from what we wear, not determined by what E news says is “trending” at the moment and most certainly not from what someone else says about you. This week, my challenge for you is to pick out some of your favorite things in your closet and don’t use them all week. I did this last week and by day 7, I realized that there is nothing materialistic in my life that I just “have to have.” Realize that you are so so blessed beyond measures, regardless of what you have, or don’t have.
Until Next Time!
