Happy Wednesday! This week’s weekly inspiration comes from 1 Thessalonians 5:11-
“Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.”
I have always been raised to treat others how you wanted to be treated. But- I am a very blunt, honest person and sometimes have absolutely no filter at all (seriously!). Because of this, more times than not, I think about things I have said to someone and if what I meant came out right, etc. Plainly said, I really try to pay attention to what I say to others and how I treat people around me.
At the end of the day, you never know what’s going on in someones life & how your actions or words could affect them. For example, someone could be having an awful day and you could say some snarky comment that could just put them over the edge! Or, that some person could be having an awful day, and your simple compliment or words of encouragement could brighten their week. The later of these two options sounds so much better with a much better end result, if I do say so myself! This week- my challenge for you is to speak encouraging words to a stranger. This doesn’t have to be a far off stranger, this person could be a coworker you don’t talk to often, or even an extended family member. Your words of encouragement could be the one thing someone needs to hear!
