Today officially makes one week since we closed on our new house in Louisiana. Getting our home + getting situated here has been such a long journey that I am glad is over! Since I had never been to Baton Rouge until a few months ago, we took three (yess…3!) homebuying trips down from Chicago to choose the perfect house & area. Even though we are not sure how long we will live here, we wanted to set down roots. We were being overly indescive for many reasons and really wanted to make sure that what we ended up with wasn’t an impulse buy but a house that we both really liked and could see ourselves living in. I can say for sure that we went with the right decision!
The house that we ended up buying was on our list of ones that we looked at a few months ago, but was not our first pick. Which looking back is actually crazy because now that we have been in our house for a week we have realized how it’s exactly what we need & were looking for all along. It’s crazy how things work out sometimes.
Between doing our inspection on our wedding anniversary + all the other small signs along this journey, I am so happy and grateful that we have a place to call home!
