Our Playroom + Office Combo

It’s finally done! After 3+ months of planning + organizing our playroom/office area is complete. I had so much fun putting this room together and can’t wait to share all the details and links. A little backstory before..Londyn truly has so much stuff and although her room and closet are big, we needed a secondary area.

Our Playroom + Office Combo

Since I currently am not using my office that much I decided that I would switch my office into her playroom and I am so happy that I did. We now use this room daily and it’s a perfect functional space for London to play around + for me to get some work done whenever I need to! Even though this project took a lot longer than I thought it would, I’m so happy with how it turned out.

Accent Wall

The first thing I did in the room was remove all of my old office furniture and added a fun accent wall. I made a separate blog post about the sponge accent wall, but it was a super quick project that I saw on Pinterest that took about 1 hour total. Cost was literally only a couple buckets of sample paint, a sponge and a good music playlist! Once that wall was done, I added a playhouse wall decal and some flowers to add all the colorful accents before I put the furniture back in. In my office corner, I hung up the same shelves that I used in Londyns play kitchen so they would match.

DIT Frames and Photos

For her photos, I found some frames on Amazon + some Etsy prints that I liked and printed them at home! Buying 6 pictures for this room was not in the budget (why is framed art so expensive), so I decided to DIY it which ended up being better since I know I will most likely be changing the pictures out as Londyn learns new things. I then added a 6 cube storage shelf (we LOVE these!) from Target in a neutral color to set up her Montessori toy rotation, and her ball pit. With Londyn, I know that too many things out at one time are a distraction, so keeping these shelves minimal helps her stay focused while having fun + learning at the same time.

Corner Wall Decor

For my corner, all I really needed was my old desk + some photos to hang so the wall was not so bare. Of course, I had to put cabinet locks since Londyn likes to open my drawers but that was about it. The final thing was the curtain which matches the one in her room and the rod with a little touch of gold!

I love how it all came together & can’t wait to create so many fun memories in here!
