With so much baby stuff available to all of us new mamas now a days, I really wanted to make sure I was getting the best, most NECESSARY stuff for Baby L. Making our registry took forever because I did so much research on all items, but I am so happy I did and love all of the stuff that we got. We decided to get most large items ourselves and watched for them to go on sale (most did if we watched 30-60 days!) and also had some very specific things that certain family members asked to buy so those were not on our actual registry, but I have shared below all of our “must haves” for baby L!
Baby Gear
To start, we decided to go with the Uppababy Cruz V2 Stroller in Jake. They have two models we looked at, the vista and the cruz, but we ended up going with the cruz because it was a little smaller and I could maneuver it better. Tip: Go to the store where all the models you like are on display (we went to Nordstrom) so you can compare them side by side! We also went with the Uppababy Mesa car seat, which can also be used with the stroller as well as the other pieces (bassinet, etc.).
For the bassinet for our bedroom, we decided on the Halo Swivel Sleeper since it swivels and is high enough so that I can reach baby L from the bed. Out of all of the reviews I read, these features were some that moms loved the most. One of the items that I’m most excited to use from our list is the docatot for laying her around the house, especially since we have three stories. Two different baby carriers were bought, the Nuna Cudl for Ryan & the BabyBjorn for me. The Nuna is great since it can be used for up to 2 years, with the Babybjorn being my top pick for myself since its easy to use and great to start using as a newborn (plus it comes in cute colors!).
Bath Time & Diapering
Finding a tub was a little difficult, especially since there are so many. The 4moms cleanwater tub has great reviews since it has a temperature gage on it and can grow with your baby! Some other essentials were Tubby Todd items that all of my mom friends swear by and some hooded towels.
Diaper essentials we got included a lot of muslin burp clothes from amazon, some diaper ointment (along with diapers and wipes) and a diaper pail. Although many people say diaper pails are either a hit or miss with some not working, we decided to give it a try and one of my girl friends got us the most adorable pink one! I became a little crazy and racked up on a lot of Frida Baby items too, such as the cradle cap kit, the snot sucker and the sick day prep kit.
Nursery & Feeding
The Hatch rest was another thing that some of my friends said we for sure needed. For our monitor we decided on the Owlet Dream Duo. Although it is on the pricer side, it is something that can grow with baby L and we can have it for a while. Plus, the little socks are soo cute & I couldn’t resist the leopard one!
For feeding time, I got the Boppy nursing pillow & some mommy nursing essentials (nursing pads, etc.) as well as some cute bibs. To make our lives a little easier, we got a Baby Brezza bottle sterilizer and Phillips Avent bottle warmer. I also did some extensive bottle research and went with the Chicco Duo bottles since they are plastic on the outside & glass on the inside.
Play Time
We did not put a lot of toys and things like that on our registry, mostly because we got them all ourselves beforehand but a few must haves were the Lovevery play gym and subscription kit, some baby books for tummy time and some teethers. I also added an additional play mat that we could use on the main floor of or house, since we plan on using her play gym in her nursery. We also decided on the Munchkin lightweight baby swing and love how it has a bluetooth feature so you can play your own music, and it’s portable/folds down so can be used around the house.
Trying to be as minimal as possible, I can say that all the things that we registered for serve a purpose and do not feel like “too much”. I fee extremely prepared with all of our stuff as it’s almost all here and we can’t wait to use it all!
XO,
B
