Happy October! The year is (somehow) already coming to a close & if you are like me, you are simply wondering where the time went. This year for me has been productive, but fast; successful, but stressful. This year has been a full year, to say the least but has been so so good! I’ve accomplished some goals, both big & small and have made some amazing memories between traveling, eating way too much, laughing way to loud, and just living life. With only 90 days left this year, I truly want to make the most of them!
90 Days Left in The Year: How to Make the Most Out of It
I’ve talked many times about how at the beginning of the year how I always start with a Vision Board, a plan, etc. Last year, I also talked about the 4 things you should have on your vision board. I truly believe that all vision boards should have the following:
- One Financial Goal.
- One Travel Destination
- A “X Less, X More” Goal
- One Random Personal Goal
I think one mistake people (myself included) always make is thinking that goals have to be larger than life alll the time, when in fact, they really don’t. The above list is not only a great way to start visions for the beginning of the year, but I also use this as a way to check myself throughout the year too! For example, at the beginning of every month- I try to write at least a few things down that I want to accomplish for the next 30 or so days.
Sometimes my goals for the month include small things, such as finishing a book I’ve been meaning to finish.
Other times, they are a bit larger, like maybe paying off a large bill that I have or something like that. Regardless of the size, making it intentional to check on the goals that you set for yourself in the beginning of the year is important for both personal & career oriented, etc. growth. More importantly, it is imperative that you continue to set yourself up for success by having smaller goals each month that will align you to achieve your bigger ones.
With 90 days left in the year, we all still have time to accomplish some things that we wanted to for our 2018! Maybe you got sidetracked for a couple of months, or maybe you had some things happen that prevented you from being focused on certain things. Or maybe, if you’re like me, although you for sure completed some goals that you had- you still have some more that you want to do. Regardless of your situation- your goals can still be met!
Below are some guidelines that I have used over time for the last 30 days of the year:
Make a plan.
Nothing good happens without planning. Make sure that whatever you are trying to accomplish, you have a plan to do so.
Just start.
This is something that I have learned over time. Being the over-thinker that I am, I am constantly trying to make everything perfect (which often does not happen, ha!). The last year or so I would say I have come to accept that not everything will be perfect all the time- and that is totally okay. When trying to accomplish something, starting sometimes is half the battle. Whatever it is you are trying to accomplish, just start. For some things in life- there will never be that “perfect time” to begin, but by starting you can create that.
Appreciate your progress.
No matter whether you accomplish your goals in the next 90 days or not, learn to appreciate your progress thus far when you reach the finish line! Appreciating your progress doesn’t mean that you are accepting where you are as your final destination, but more so looking back at the process and appreciating your advancement already. Doing this always allows me to realize how far I have come, regardless of how far left I have to go. It’s totally okay to pat yourself on the back sometimes! Besides, you totally deserve to do so.
What are some ways that you prepare for the last 90 days of the year? Do you go crazy, writing list after list, or do you sort of relax & reflect on the year you have had so far? Either way- keep going girl! You got this Boo, Boo!

I love that you mention to appreciate your progress. I don’t do that nearly enough, I just keep striving for the next milestone. Thank you!
Yes, I totally agree with you! Progress is such an important part of the process!

Alright if I wasn’t in the middle of a move I would print this out and stick it on my mirror… EVERY. LAST. WORD. You have no idea how much I needed this post, it has been a year, but it is not too late to start on my goals and appreciate the progress. Love this thank you!
Awh, so glad I could be a little inspiration for ya! And yes, you are so right= it is never too late to start on a goal!
XOXO,

This is exactly what I needed to get myself back on track! I feel like the summer through my goal list off!! Thank you for making these important points! I’m pinning this so I can reference it as a get back on track!
Yes of course!

Bitter sweet to know we only have 90 days left in 2018! You are right, we need to appreciate all of achievements and appreciate the progress whether small or large.
I know, like HOWWW did the year go by so fast, haha!
XOXO,

I think this is a thoughtful way to approach the last 90 days of 2018. Reflect on the previous 9 months, perhaps re-evaluate original goals, and then make that plan for what you can reasonably accomplish during these final three months. Reasonably being the key word – and relaxing – like that, too!
I absolutely agree with all three points you made.
1. I’m finding more than ever, at my age and stage of life, I definitely need a written plan or I just get too distracted and/or forget things.
2. Just start – definitely! You won’t get anywhere by standing still, fretting and stressing.
3. Appreciating progress is essential – every baby step counts and means you’re one step further ahead! 🙂
Yes! I totally agree with you on all of this..I think it’s so easy to get distracted with life that it’s so so easy to get caught up in life, forgetting our goals and what’s important to us!
XOXO,
B
