Amazon Home Organization Finds

The end of the year is here which means it’s time to clean! I always love doing a deep clean at the beginning of the year, it always makes me feel extra organized and ready to take on the following 12 months, whatever they bring. The one thing that I have always strived to be is an organized person– I feel so much better mentally and physically if my home surroundings are clean and organized. Although I don’t like cleaning (but I love doing laundry!), I do like my home being put together so I spend a little bit of time each day keeping it organized.

Most years the last week in December, I spend the week getting rid of things that I don’t use or haven’t used in a while to make some space. I do not consider myself a minimalist at all, but do not like clutter. Using things such as wooden baskets and glass storage, I have found easy ways to organize my home. Below I have shared some home organization items that I use to help my home stay organized, as well as 10 home organization tips that I use weekly to ensure my house stays clean! Amazon home organization finds

Below, I rounded up all of my favorite Amazon home organization finds that I have found helpful in my own house. I try very hard to stay organized & have found that keeping storage containers in most places around my house helps me do so. I try not to buy too many things to keep organized since that can lead to more clutter, but have found some things that truly do help.

Amazon has a great selection of everyday home organization items that are so useful! For the kitchen, I really like using glass containers since they are more sustainable than plastic. Amazon has a 16 pack that I have used all year and would recommend! It comes with many sizes and they are glass so of course they are very easy to clean. I also really like keeping my fridge clean and recently found some fridge mats that are also easy to clean and keep spills, etc. from getting all over the place.

For our bathroom, I like using under cabinet storage to organize all of my hair things & makeup. Since we don’t have towel hooks near our shower, I use suction hooks that are very sleek and minimal and match our bathroom.

We have a lot of drawer storage in our bedroom, but I do always love using drawer organizers to keep things within them organized. I recently found a sock drawer organizer and I would highly recommend!

Some other organization items that I really like are wooden baskets- I use these around the house for all kinds of things, especially when organizing all the random toddler things we have around the house.

How to keep your home clean and organized

I like being organized, but it is very hard with a busy life and a little one at home! The tips below are things that help me:

Do a little each day

The best organizing tip I have is to take a little bit of time each day picking up! I don’t always have as much time to clean and organize as I want to, so doing a little bit each day has helped to make organizing feel less overwhelming and easier to fit into my schedule

When you buy new things, get rid of old ones

This is something that we have done in our house for a few years now and it has been very helpful! Whenever we buy new things, we make a point to get rid of old things so that we are essentially “replacing” items instead of adding to what we have. For instance, if I buy a new pair of shoes, I also get rid of a pair of shoes that I no longer wear. I do this for myself, my husband & my daughter and it has really helped us to keep only what we use and declutter.

Clean out fridge weekly

There is no worse smell than the smell of old food! We clean our fridge out weekly to make sure that old food is thrown away consistently.

Keep shoes at the door

If you think about how germs are everywhere, it becomes very easy to not wear shoes in the house and keep them at the door! We even keep a basket near our door for shoes which reminds us to take them off when we walk in the house, but also keeps them neat and organized.

Use a family calendar

I use an agenda daily for my personal schedule, but we use a wall calendar for our family schedule! This has helped so much in terms of planning everything from work trips to personal vacations. We keep it on the wall near our garage, so we see it daily when we leave the house and can always update it whenever we need to.

Organize drawers and cabinets

I love using containers & things in drawers and under cabinets since I have a bad habit of just throwing things in them! Amazon has a great number of drawer organizers that can help with this, such as dividers that can help. I really like using these since they make finding things so much easier.

Do laundry daily

Although I like doing laundry, it can pile up quickly in our house! I do a small load daily to help with this and it always seems to help. I also have a rule that if I wash it, I have to dry it and put it away the same say. This helps to make sure I am 100% completing it, versus telling myself that I will fold it later!

Clean as you cook

Even though I don’t do the cooking in my house, I do clean the kitchen and I always “clean as I go”. This helps eliminate a task of cleaning a kitchen after dinner, which I never want to do after I eat. I also make a point to empty & fill the dishwasher daily and turn the dishwasher on nightly when I am shutting the house down before bed. We never leave dishes in the sink which helps to make sure our kitchen is clean.

Wipe down daily & immediately pick up spills

The bathroom counters, tabletops & kitchen counters are areas that I wipe down daily. Since they are used every day I wipe them down after every use to make sure they don’t get sticky or nasty after spills. Since spills happen so often with a little one, this is something that I include Londyn in so she feels like she is “helping” me around the house!

Vacuum & Mop weekly

A lot of people stick to a cleaning schedule where they clean the same area the same day of the week weekly, but we do not. That is too much commitment for us since we are so busy most of the time. Instead, we make a point to do all of the above but also vacuum and mop weekly. Vacuuming is mostly daily since we have a robot vacuum, but moping we do weekly unless we have a major spill in our house.

Whether you are planning on organizing this week to prepare for the new year, or just wanting to crate a new habit of being more organized, I hope these tips helped you! What are some things you use to keep your house organized?

XO,

B
